Lighting for above ground pools

Color changing LED lighting can transform your above ground pool into the focus point of your backyard. With several lights on the market and manufacturers making it as simplistic as possible to install, the right lighting for your above ground pool is readily available. Floating lights, solar lighting, and water features with lighting can help you create a unique backyard experience.
Standard white lighting will allow you to safely enjoy your pool into the wee hours of the night but with so many options on the market why not consider color changing pool lights? Typical above ground pool structures do not have a light niche with a light conduit for installation. That does not limit your ability to have a lighted pool. Most above ground pool lights on the market require only minor installation. Some aboveground pool lights even run on batteries and float freely around your pool. Others can be installed directly into your return fitting and will remain solidly in place.
Ambient lighting is also an option for above ground pools. Lighting any surrounding decking or pathway can transform your entire pool area. Water features that include lighting options can help turn your pool into a glowing masterpiece. Lighting your above ground pool is also an important safety feature. Seconds saved through better lighting in your pool can mean the difference between tragedy and near tragedy.
Before attempting to retro-fit lighting components into your pool make sure your electrical supply is compatible with any product you are considering. Read all installation instructions and properly bond/ground your electric to reduce the risk of electrical shock.
Existing lighting features may be a candidate to have a replacement bulb installed in them with an array of colors and color changing patterns to create the mood you are trying to achieve. Aftermarket lights installed in existing light fixtures usually consist of a synchronization switch allowing you to use existing switch to rotate through color patterns and/or stay on a solid color.
Floating decorative pool lights don't do a great deal of lighting the pool for swimming, but they look great for a party or quiet evening around the pool. They come in all types of designs. Lilies, Globes, Roses, Stars, even Jellyfish!
