Here then is the best way to use Fix-A-Leak to stop leaks in pools, and how to reverse water flow, or put your pipes under pressure, to force Fix-A-Leak into the cracks or voids.

  • Replacing a Pool Pump Pipe Fitting
    Rob Cox
My friend whose pool has been featured on this blog several times has again suffered pool problems, which makes for another unique teaching opportunity. This time it's the pipe that goes into the pump, it has shrunken from heat. He admitted to accidentally leaving incoming valves closed (skimmer/main drain) after cleaning the pump basket, and it seems that the pump ran all night without any water running through it to keep it cool.

    Rob Cox
yo boy!How do you like the plumbing job featured left? It's the worst bit of pool plumbing I've ever seen! And to top it off - this was the finished pool pipe rehab! This DIY pool plumber has made a real mess of the pool plumbing, with unnecessary turns and twists, fittings and unions. And, what bothers me the most, is that he left the old brass ball valves on the return lines. Ugh.
