  • The new Pool Lift law - ADA requirements
New laws handed down by the Department of Justice are now in effect. The Standards for Accessible Design 2010 revision have been adopted by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The modified regulations to the 1990 ADA were published September 15, 2010 in the Federal Register. The ADA ensures Americans with disabilities will not be faced with discrimination, and certain public and semi-public swimming pools now need to provide a pool lift for every 300 sq. ft. of pool perimeter.

    Rob Cox
It's called the 12 Principles of Green Chemisty, originally the brainchild of Paul Anastas, then of the EPA, and John C. Warner and it provides a framework for what chemistry would be - without toxicity. • Locating Your Above Ground Swimming Pool
Wherever you are considering placing your pool, it must be very flat and level. If you do not have such a surface then you will need to level an area up, to install it on. Any slope, even a slight one, will cause the water to un-evenly load the pool, which can result in a sidewall failure. Even an inch of slope from one side to the other will create problems. To check the level of the ground, place a carpenter's level on a long piece of lumber. Move the lumber in a circular fashion, to check level from all directions.

  • Portable Swimming Pool Safety
    Rob Cox
